Yashwant Sinha

Yashwant Sinha, born on November sixth, nineteen thirty-seven, is a distinguished Indian politician and a retired Indian Administrative Service officer. His political career is marked by significant contributions to the Indian government, particularly during his tenure as Minister of Finance.

He first held the position of Minister of Finance from nineteen ninety to nineteen ninety-one under Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar. His expertise in economic matters led him to serve again in this role from March nineteen ninety-eight to July two thousand two under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In addition to his financial acumen, Sinha also took on the role of Minister of External Affairs from July two thousand two until May two thousand four, showcasing his versatility in governance. A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he made headlines when he decided to leave the party on April twenty-first, two thousand eighteen.

In two thousand twenty-two, Sinha emerged as a prominent figure in Indian politics once again, being nominated as the Presidential candidate for the opposition, reflecting his enduring influence and commitment to public service.
