Yelena Romanova

Yelena Romanova, born on March 20, 1963, was a distinguished Russian long-distance runner who made her mark in the world of athletics. She achieved remarkable success during her career, most notably winning an Olympic gold medal in the women's 3000 metres at the 1992 Games. Her dedication and talent in the sport earned her a place among the elite athletes of her time.

Beyond her competitive achievements, Yelena was deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of athletes. At the time of her untimely death at the age of forty-three, she was actively working as an athletics coach at a local sports school in Volgograd.
