Renowned for his exceptional talent, he has set remarkable records, including the world record in the half marathon with a time of fifty-seven minutes and thirty seconds, achieved in twenty twenty-four. Additionally, he holds the record for the short track mile, clocking in at three minutes and forty-seven point zero one seconds in twenty nineteen.

In a groundbreaking achievement, Yomif became the second athlete, following Sabastian Sawe, to complete a marathon in under two hours under race conditions, finishing with an impressive time of one hour, fifty-nine minutes, and forty-one seconds.
