Yoo Seung-jun, also known as Steve Sueng Jun Yoo, was born on December 15, 1976. He is an American singer, rapper, and actor of South Korean descent. Yoo made his debut in the South Korean music scene in 1997 with the hit song 'Gawi,' quickly rising to fame and becoming one of the most beloved K-pop stars of his era.
Over the course of his early career, Yoo achieved remarkable success, selling more than five million records within just five years. His popularity was a testament to his talent and the impact he had on the music industry in South Korea.
However, his career took a dramatic turn in 2002 when he faced accusations of evading mandatory military service by obtaining U.S. citizenship. This led to a historic ban from entering South Korea, making him the only individual to be prohibited from the country for acquiring another nationality.
Following his banishment, Yoo transitioned to acting in China, where he found new opportunities. He gained recognition for his performances, particularly as Jin Wuzhu in the 2013 historical TV series 'The Patriot Yue Fei' and as Prince Wen in the 2010 film 'Little Big Soldier.'
