Yoshie Takeshita, born on March eighteenth, nineteen seventy-eight, is a retired Japanese volleyball player renowned for her exceptional skills on the court. She played for JT Marvelous and was a pivotal member of the All-Japan women's volleyball team, showcasing her talent at three consecutive Olympic Games: the two thousand four, two thousand eight, and two thousand twelve Summer Olympics.
During the two thousand twelve Olympics, Takeshita contributed to the Japanese team's remarkable achievement of winning the bronze medal. Her prowess was further highlighted in two thousand ten when she helped the Japanese Women's team secure another bronze at the world championships, triumphing over the United States in the decisive match.
Known affectionately as the 'World's smallest and strongest setter' (世界 最小 最強 セッター), Takeshita served as the captain of the Japanese volleyball team during the two thousand six World Championship, where she earned the prestigious Most Valuable Player award.
