Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Young Kim

Young Kim, born on October eighteenth, nineteen sixty-two, is a prominent South Korean-born American politician and financial analyst. Currently serving as the U.S. representative for California's fortieth congressional district, she previously represented the thirty-ninth district from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three. Her district encompasses the northern regions of Orange County.

In the historic twenty twenty United States House of Representatives elections, Kim, alongside Michelle Steel and Marilyn Strickland, made history as the first Korean-American women elected to the United States Congress. This milestone was preceded by her candidacy in twenty eighteen, where she was the Republican nominee for California's thirty-ninth congressional district, narrowly losing to Democrat Gil Cisneros.

In a remarkable comeback, Kim defeated Cisneros in a rematch during the twenty twenty elections, becoming one of the first three Republican candidates to unseat an incumbent House Democrat in California since nineteen ninety-four. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the California State Assemblywoman for the sixty-fifth district from twenty fourteen to twenty sixteen, where she made history by defeating the incumbent Democrat Sharon Quirk-Silva in twenty fourteen.

Despite losing her seat in a rematch with Quirk-Silva in twenty sixteen, Kim's political journey has been marked by significant achievements, including being the first South Korean-born Republican woman elected to the California State Legislature.
