Yu Jing

Yu Jing, born on May 29, 1985, is a distinguished Chinese long-track speed skater renowned for her exceptional talent in sprint distances. Her remarkable career reached a pinnacle in 2012 when she claimed the title of World Sprint Champion, showcasing her prowess on the ice.

During her illustrious career, Yu Jing set world records in both the sprint combination and the 500 metres, solidifying her status as one of the sport's elite athletes. Her record in the sprint combination stood unchallenged until January 2013, when it was surpassed by Heather Richardson. Similarly, her impressive time in the 500 metres was eclipsed by Lee Sang-hwa in November 2013.

Yu's record-breaking time of thirty-six point ninety-four seconds in the 500 metres was a significant achievement for Chinese speed skating, remaining a national record until it was broken by Wang Beixing later that same year.
