Yu Zhengsheng

Yu Zhengsheng, born on April 1, 1945, is a distinguished retired Chinese politician known for his significant contributions to the Chinese political landscape. He held the esteemed position of Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from March 2013 until 2018, marking a pivotal period in his career.

Before rising to national prominence, Yu served in key regional roles, including as the Party Secretary of Hubei and later as the Party Secretary of Shanghai, one of China's most vital economic hubs. His leadership in these positions laid the groundwork for his subsequent ascent within the Chinese Communist Party.

In November 2002, Yu became a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, a significant milestone that underscored his influence within the party. Between 2012 and 2017, he was recognized as the fourth-ranking member of the Politburo Standing Committee, further solidifying his status as a prominent figure in Chinese politics.
