Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Yuan Shao

Yuan Shao (袁紹), born in the year one hundred fifty-four, was a prominent military general and politician during the late Eastern Han dynasty. He was known for his significant role as a warlord, commanding the northern territories of China amidst the tumultuous civil wars that marked the decline of the Han dynasty. As the elder half-brother of Yuan Shu, who governed the Huai River region, Yuan Shao's relationship with his sibling was notably strained.

One of the most formidable warlords of his era, Yuan Shao took the initiative to lead a coalition of warlords against the tyrant Dong Zhuo, who had taken Emperor Xian hostage in Luoyang. Despite his ambitious efforts, the coalition ultimately faltered due to internal discord, preventing them from achieving their goal.

In the year two hundred, Yuan Shao launched a campaign against his rival, Cao Cao, which culminated in the infamous Battle of Guandu. Unfortunately for Yuan Shao, this campaign ended in defeat, marking a significant turning point in his military endeavors. He succumbed to illness two years later in Ye, leaving behind a legacy that was often overshadowed by his indecisiveness and failure to heed the counsel of his advisors.
