Yves Prévost

Yves Prévost, born on July eleventh, nineteen oh eight, was a prominent figure in Quebec's political and legal landscape. His career began in the realm of local governance, where he served as the mayor of Beauport from nineteen forty-eight to nineteen fifty-two. During this time, he also dedicated nearly two decades to the Beauport School Board, holding various high-ranking positions that showcased his commitment to education and community service.

In nineteen forty-eight, Prévost was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Montmorency, marking the beginning of his provincial political journey. He rose to prominence within the Union Nationale party, eventually becoming the interim leader and leader of the Opposition from September nineteen sixty to January nineteen sixty-one. His leadership followed the resignation of Antonio Barrette, the party's former premier, after a disappointing election outcome.

Despite his significant contributions, Prévost's tenure as interim leader was short-lived, as he was succeeded by Antonio Talbot in January nineteen sixty-one. He chose not to run in the subsequent nineteen sixty-two election, marking the end of his direct involvement in provincial politics.
