Yvonne Vera

Yvonne Vera, born on September nineteenth, nineteen sixty-four, was a prominent writer and novelist hailing from Zimbabwe. She made her literary debut with a collection of short stories titled Why Don't You Carve Other Animals in nineteen ninety-two, which set the stage for her subsequent exploration of complex themes through her novels.

Her literary journey continued with the publication of five notable novels: Nehanda in nineteen ninety-three, Without a Name in nineteen ninety-four, Under the Tongue in nineteen ninety-six, Butterfly Burning in nineteen ninety-eight, and The Stone Virgins in two thousand two.
