Zeid bin Shaker

Zeid bin Shaker, born on September fourth, nineteen thirty-four, is a distinguished Jordanian military officer and politician. He is renowned for his extensive service as the commander-in-chief of the Jordanian military, a position he held for over twelve years. His political career is marked by his tenure as the twenty-seventh Prime Minister of Jordan, a role he assumed three times, showcasing his significant influence in the country's governance.

As a cousin of King Hussein, Zeid bin Shaker's military journey began alongside the future king. His early career included serving as the assistant military attaché at the Jordanian Embassy in London during the years nineteen fifty-seven and nineteen fifty-eight. Throughout his military service, he excelled in various roles, including tank commander at both brigade and division levels, demonstrating his leadership and tactical skills.

In January nineteen ninety-six, he was appointed chief of staff for the armed services, a position he maintained until his resignation in nineteen eighty-eight. His contributions to the military were recognized when he was promoted to field marshal in June nineteen eighty-seven. His close ties to the Hashemite royal family, coupled with his role as an adviser to the king on national security, ensured that he retained considerable influence over military policies in Jordan.
