Zigfrīds Anna Meierovics, born on January twenty-fourth, eighteen eighty-seven, was a prominent Latvian politician and diplomat. He played a pivotal role in shaping the newly independent Latvia, serving as the first Foreign Minister from the country's independence until nineteen twenty-four, and again from December of that year until his passing.
In addition to his diplomatic endeavors, Meierovics held the esteemed position of Prime Minister of Latvia on two separate occasions. His first term spanned from June nineteen twenty-one to January nineteen twenty-three, followed by a second term from June nineteen twenty-three to January nineteen twenty-four.
As one of the founders of the Latvian Farmers' Union, one of the oldest political parties in Latvia, Meierovics was instrumental in advocating for the interests of the agricultural community, which was vital to the nation's economy and social fabric.
