Zinka Milanov

Zinka Milanov, born on May seventeenth, nineteen oh six, was a distinguished Croatian operatic dramatic soprano whose illustrious career was primarily anchored at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. After completing her education in Zagreb, she made her professional debut in nineteen twenty-seven in Ljubljana, captivating audiences as Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore.

From nineteen twenty-eight to nineteen thirty-six, Milanov held the prestigious position of leading soprano at the Croatian National Theatre, where she honed her craft and gained recognition. Her remarkable talent led her to the Metropolitan Opera in nineteen thirty-seven, marking the beginning of a long and celebrated tenure that lasted until nineteen sixty-six.
