Zinovios Valvis

Zinovios Zafirios I. Valvis, born on December twenty-third, eighteen hundred in Missolonghi, was a prominent Greek politician and served as Prime Minister of Greece. His early education began at the Theological School of Halki, where he initially pursued theology. However, his passion for law led him to further his studies in Pisa, Italy, where he honed his legal expertise.

Valvis's personal life was marked by his marriage to Arsinoe Ratzikosta, with whom he had nine children. His political career was notable, as he served as Prime Minister on two occasions, demonstrating his significant influence in Greek politics during his lifetime. Despite his achievements, Valvis faced challenges in his later years, ultimately choosing to decline a state pension to avoid being a burden on the Greek state.

In a poignant turn of fate, Zinovios Valvis passed away impoverished in eighteen seventy-two. He died in his hometown of Missolonghi on August twenty-fifth, eighteen eighty-six. Valvis's legacy is further enriched by his familial ties, as he was the brother of Dimitrios Valvis, who also held the esteemed position of Prime Minister.
