Ziya Bunyadov

Ziya Bunyadov, born on December twenty-fourth, nineteen twenty-one, was a distinguished Azerbaijani historian and orientalist. His academic journey led him to become an esteemed member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, where he served as Vice-President. Bunyadov's contributions to the field of history were profound, particularly during his long tenure as the head of the Institute of History of the Azerbaijani Academy of Sciences.

In addition to his academic achievements, Bunyadov was a decorated World War II veteran. His bravery and dedication during the war earned him the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the highest honor bestowed in the Soviet Union, recognizing his exceptional valor and commitment to his country.
