Zoé Valdés

Zoé Valdés, born on May second, nineteen fifty-nine, is a prominent Cuban writer, poet, and novelist known for her compelling narratives and vivid storytelling. Her literary journey began with her studies at the Instituto Superior Pedagógico Enrique José Varona, although she did not complete her degree. Valdés's career took a significant turn when she worked for the Delegación de Cuba at UNESCO in Paris from nineteen eighty-four to nineteen eighty-eight, followed by her role at the Oficina Cultural de la Misión de Cuba in the same city.

From nineteen ninety to nineteen ninety-five, she served as an editor for the magazine Cine Cubano, where she contributed to the promotion of Cuban cinema and culture. Valdés's multifaceted talents extend beyond writing; she is also a scriptwriter, film director, and blogger, showcasing her versatility in the arts.

Currently residing in Paris with her daughter, Valdés has experienced three marriages, including unions with Cuban writer Manuel Pereira Quintero, government official José Antonio González, and independent filmmaker Ricardo Vega. Her life and work continue to reflect her deep connection to her Cuban roots and her experiences abroad.
