Zoltán Gera

Zoltán Gera, born on April 22, 1979, is a distinguished Hungarian former professional footballer and current football coach, celebrated for his dynamic role as a midfielder. His career spanned several notable clubs, including Fulham, Pécsi Mecsek, and Harkány SE, alongside two impactful stints at Ferencváros and West Bromwich Albion.

Gera is particularly renowned for his spectacular overhead-kick goals and his signature cartwheel-to-back-flip celebration, which he famously showcased during Fulham's remarkable Europa League quarter-final victory against Juventus in two thousand and ten. His exceptional talent earned him the title of Hungarian Player of the Year in two thousand two, two thousand four, and two thousand five, and he was honored as Fulham's Player of the Season for his contributions during the two thousand nine to ten season.

Internationally, Gera made his debut for the Hungarian national team in two thousand two against Switzerland, despite the team suffering a narrow defeat. After a brief retirement from international play in two thousand nine due to a disagreement with then-manager Erwin Koeman, he made a triumphant return to the squad in two thousand ten under the new management of Sándor Egervári. Gera proudly represented Hungary at the two thousand sixteen UEFA European Championship.
