Zygmunt Gorazdowski, born on November first, eighteen forty-five, was a dedicated Polish Roman Catholic priest whose life was marked by a profound commitment to serving the marginalized. Despite facing significant health challenges, including tuberculosis during his childhood, Gorazdowski persevered through his studies for the priesthood, taking necessary time off to recover before his ordination.

Upon becoming a priest, he devoted himself to various parishes while simultaneously establishing homes for orphans and single mothers. His compassion extended to creating hospices and other facilities aimed at supporting a diverse range of individuals in need. In addition to his pastoral work, Gorazdowski was a prolific writer, producing catechisms and religious notes that greatly benefited his congregation.

The journey towards his canonization began on June first, nineteen eighty-nine, when he was recognized as a Servant of God. His exemplary life of heroic virtue was later acknowledged, earning him the title of Venerable. The culmination of this recognition came when Pope John Paul II beatified him during his visit to Ukraine on June twenty-sixth, two thousand one. Ultimately, Pope Benedict XVI canonized him as a saint on October twenty-third, two thousand five, in a ceremony held at Saint Peter's Square.
