Alex Shibutani

Alex Shibutani, born on April twenty-fifth, nineteen ninety-one, is a distinguished American ice dancer renowned for his remarkable achievements in the sport. Partnered with his sister, Maia Shibutani, Alex has carved a niche for himself in the world of competitive ice dancing, showcasing their exceptional talent on the global stage.

The Shibutanis have made history as two-time Olympic bronze medalists, having secured their medals at the twenty-eighteen Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. They are also celebrated for their impressive track record, which includes three World medals—silver in two thousand sixteen and bronze in two thousand eleven and two thousand seventeen—as well as being crowned the champions of the 2016 Four Continents competition.

In addition to their Olympic success, the duo has claimed the title of U.S. national champions twice, in two thousand sixteen and two thousand seventeen. Their prowess extends to the Grand Prix series, where they have won six titles, further solidifying their status as elite competitors. At the junior level, they earned a silver medal at the two thousand nine World Junior Championships and a bronze at the two thousand nine–ten JGP Final.

Notably, the Shibutanis are trailblazers in the sport, being the first ice dancers of Asian descent to medal at the Olympics.
