Maria of Yugoslavia

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Maria of Yugoslavia

Maria of Yugoslavia, born Princess Maria of Romania on January sixth, nineteen hundred, was a prominent figure in the royal history of the Balkans. She served as Queen of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes from nineteen twenty-two until nineteen twenty-nine, and subsequently as Queen of Yugoslavia from nineteen twenty-nine to nineteen thirty-four, as the beloved wife of King Alexander I.

Throughout her life, Maria was not only a queen but also a devoted mother, raising her son, King Peter II, who would later ascend to the throne. Her royal duties and influence were significant during a transformative period in Yugoslav history.

However, her life took a dramatic turn in nineteen forty-seven when the Yugoslav communist regime revoked her citizenship and confiscated her property. Despite these hardships, Maria's legacy endured, and she was posthumously rehabilitated in two thousand fourteen, restoring her place in history.
