Władysław Komar

He is best known for his remarkable achievements in shot put, where he represented Poland in three Summer Olympics from 1964 to 1972. His crowning glory came at the Munich Games in 1972, where he clinched the gold medal with an impressive throw of 21.18 metres, earning him the nickname 'King Kong' Komar, a title popularized by a Sports Illustrated article.
