Al-Mahdi

Al-Mahdi, born Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Manṣūr on August third, seven hundred forty-four, was a prominent figure in Islamic history. As the third Abbasid Caliph, he ruled from seven hundred seventy-five until his death in seven hundred eighty-five. His reign marked a significant period of consolidation and expansion for the Abbasid dynasty.
