Balash

Balash, a prominent figure in the Sasanian dynasty, ascended to the throne as the King of Kings of Iran in the year four hundred eighty-four. His reign, though brief, lasted until four hundred eighty-eight, marking a significant period in the tumultuous history of the region.

As the brother and successor of Peroz I, who ruled from four hundred fifty-nine to four hundred eighty-four, Balash inherited a kingdom facing formidable challenges. His brother's defeat and subsequent death at the hands of the Hephthalites left a legacy of conflict that Balash had to navigate during his rule.
