Frederick of Luxembourg

Frederick of Luxembourg, born in the year nine hundred sixty-five, was a prominent aristocrat and Count of Moselgau. He was the son of Siegfried of Luxembourg and Hedwig of Nordgau, a lineage that positioned him within the influential circles of medieval nobility.

In his personal life, Frederick married Irmtrud, the daughter of Count Herbert of Wetterau. Their union produced several notable descendants who would continue the family's legacy. Among them were Henry VII, who became Count of Luxembourg and Duke of Bavaria, and Frederick, who would later hold the title of Duke of Lower Lorraine.

Frederick's lineage also included Giselbert of Luxembourg, Count of Longwy, Adalbéron III, Bishop of Metz, and Thierry of Luxembourg, who fathered several notable figures, including Thierry and Henry, Count Palatine of Lorraine. His family connections extended through marriage as well, with his daughter Ogive marrying Baldwin IV, Count of Flanders.
