Frederik X, born on May twenty-six, nineteen sixty-eight, is the current King of Denmark, having ascended to the throne following the abdication of his mother, Margrethe II, in January twenty twenty-four. As the elder son of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik, Frederik was born during the reign of his maternal grandfather, King Frederik IX. He became Crown Prince of Denmark in nineteen seventy-two when his mother became queen.
Frederik's educational journey began with private home schooling, followed by attendance at Krebs School, École des Roches, and Øregård Gymnasium. He later earned a Master of Science degree in political science from Aarhus University. His career has included significant diplomatic roles at the United Nations and in Paris, alongside comprehensive training in all three branches of the Danish Armed Forces.
In the year two thousand, Frederik met Australian marketing consultant Mary Donaldson during the Summer Olympics in Sydney. Their relationship blossomed, leading to their marriage on May fourteenth, two thousand four, at Copenhagen Cathedral. Together, they have four children: Christian, Isabella, Vincent, and Josephine.
