Ipirvik

Ipirvik, born in the year eighteen thirty-seven, was a remarkable Inuk guide and explorer whose contributions to Arctic exploration were invaluable. He played a pivotal role in assisting several prominent explorers, including Charles Francis Hall and Frederick Schwatka, navigating the challenging terrains of the Arctic with skill and expertise.

Alongside his wife, Taqulittuq, Ipirvik became one of the most recognized and widely-travelled Inuit figures during the 1860s and 1870s. Their journeys not only showcased their adventurous spirit but also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Inuit people.
