Jey's journey in wrestling began in his childhood, trained by his father, the legendary WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi. He made his professional debut in 2008 and joined WWE's developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), in 2010. In addition to his tag team accomplishments, Jey has also made a name for himself as a singles competitor. He was awarded the Feud of the Year in two thousand twenty by CBS Sports for his rivalry with Roman Reigns and won the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in two thousand twenty-one. His accolades continued as he captured the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship with Cody Rhodes, marking his fourth reign with the Raw Tag Team Championship and sixth with the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

In September two thousand twenty-four, Jey achieved a significant milestone by winning the Intercontinental Championship, the first singles title of his career. His journey reached new heights in February two thousand twenty-five when he triumphed in the Men's Royal Rumble, securing a world championship match at WrestleMania forty-one, where he defeated Gunther to claim the World Heavyweight Championship, marking the pinnacle of his wrestling career.
