Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, born on January 17, 1962, is a celebrated Canadian and American actor and comedian, renowned for his dynamic slapstick performances. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential comedic actors of his generation, having garnered two Golden Globe Awards along with nominations for BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Carrey's journey in comedy began in the 1980s, where he honed his craft and took on supporting roles in various films. His breakthrough came with the Fox sketch comedy series In Living Color, which aired from 1990 to 1994. Following this, he became a household name with a series of blockbuster hits in 1994, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. His success in these films paved the way for him to become the first comic actor to command an upfront salary of twenty million dollars for a film, starting with The Cable Guy in 1996.
