Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin, born on January tenth, nineteen eighty-four, in Pondicherry, is a French actress who has made a significant mark in the Indian film and theatre industry. Raised in India, she developed a passion for theatre early in life, which led her to study drama at Goldsmiths, University of London. During her studies, she collaborated with a theatre company, honing her craft before returning to India to pursue a career in acting.

Her film debut came in two thousand nine with the critically acclaimed black comedy-drama Dev.D, where she portrayed Chanda, earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Koechlin quickly rose to prominence, starring in major hits like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in two thousand eleven and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in two thousand thirteen, both of which garnered her further nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In addition to her commercial successes, Koechlin has been recognized for her work in independent cinema, particularly for her role in Margarita with a Straw, which earned her the National Film Award – Special Jury Award. Her versatility is evident in her performances across various genres, including the supernatural thriller Ek Thi Daayan and the musical drama Gully Boy.
