Kim Jong Chul

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kim Jong Chul

Kim Jong Chul, born on September twenty-fifth, nineteen eighty-one, is a notable figure in North Korean politics, recognized as the son of the late Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il. His lineage places him in a prominent position within the ruling family, as he is the older brother of the current Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, and the half-brother of Kim Jong-nam, who tragically lost his life in February twenty seventeen.

In two thousand seven, Jong Chul was appointed as the deputy chief of a leadership division within the Workers' Party of Korea, marking his entry into the political arena. However, his path to leadership took a significant turn on January fifteenth, two thousand nine, when reports emerged from the South Korean Yonhap News Agency indicating that Kim Jong Il had designated his youngest son, Jong Un, as his successor. This decision notably sidelined both Jong Chul and Jong Nam.

The transition of power was further underscored in April two thousand nine, when Kim Jong Un began to assume a low-level role within the Workers' Party, mirroring the grooming process that his father, Kim Jong Il, experienced under his own father, Kim Il Sung, prior to becoming the leader of North Korea in nineteen ninety-four.
