Knut Eriksson

Knut Eriksson, also known as Canute I, was a prominent figure in Swedish history, reigning as King of Sweden from 1173 until his death in 1195 or 1196. Born before the year 1150, he was the son of the revered King Erik the Saint and Queen Christina, who was a granddaughter of the notable Swedish king Inge the Elder.

His ascent to power was marked by rivalry, as he had been a rival king since 1167. This period of his life was characterized by political strife and the challenges of consolidating his rule over a divided kingdom.
