Madeleine of Valois (1443–1495)

Madeleine of Valois, born on December first, fourteen forty-three, was a prominent French princess whose life was marked by political influence and royal duty. She became known as Magdalena of Valois and was married to Gaston of Foix, which elevated her status to Princess of Viana.

Her most significant role came as the regent of Navarre from fourteen seventy-nine to fourteen ninety-four. During this period, she skillfully governed the region while her two children, Francis Phoebus and Catherine, were still minors.
