Mariela Castro

Mariela Castro, born on July twenty-seventh, nineteen sixty-two, is a prominent figure in Cuba, known for her multifaceted roles as a psychologist, pedagogue, university teacher, journalist, politician, and social activist. She has dedicated her career to advancing the rights and recognition of the LGBT+ community in Cuba, serving as the director of the Cuban National Center for Sex Education in Havana.

In addition to her work in sex education, Castro leads the National Commission for Comprehensive Attention to Transsexual People, where she advocates for the rights and well-being of transgender individuals.
