Maryam Nawaz

Maryam Nawaz, born on October twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-three, is a prominent Pakistani politician who has made history as the first woman to serve as the chief minister of Punjab. She assumed office on February twenty-six, twenty twenty-four, marking a significant milestone in the political landscape of Pakistan.

Hailing from Lahore, Punjab, Maryam is the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Her political journey began in two thousand twelve when she took the helm of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) election campaign for the two thousand thirteen general elections. Her leadership during this period showcased her commitment to public service and political engagement.

In two thousand thirteen, following the elections, she was appointed chairperson of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme. However, her tenure was cut short in two thousand fourteen when she resigned after her appointment faced legal challenges in the Lahore High Court.

Maryam's political career took a significant turn when she was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab in the two thousand twenty-four general elections. Her election not only solidified her political standing but also paved the way for her historic appointment as chief minister.
