Nicolas Roche, born on July third, nineteen eighty-four, is a distinguished Irish cyclist known for his prowess in gravel cycling, currently competing for his own NR GRVL team. Before transitioning to gravel cycling, Roche had a remarkable career as a professional road bicycle racer, spanning from two thousand five to two thousand twenty-one, during which he rode for seven different teams.
Throughout his illustrious road racing career, Roche achieved twelve victories, including four prestigious titles at the Irish National Cycling Championships—two in the road race and two in the time trial. His notable performances include stage victories at the Vuelta a España in two thousand thirteen and two thousand fifteen, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
Roche's Grand Tour experience is impressive; he started a total of twenty-four Grand Tours, finishing twenty-two of them. He secured sixty-five top-ten finishes in Grand Tour stages, with forty-three of those at the Vuelta a España, where he also recorded two top-ten overall finishes.
