Pōmare III

Pōmare III, born Teriʻitariʻa on June twenty-fifth, eighteen twenty, ascended to the throne of Tahiti at a young age, reigning from eighteen twenty-one until eighteen twenty-seven. As the second son of King Pōmare II and Queen Teriʻitoʻoterai Tere-moe-moe, his lineage was steeped in royal heritage.

His reign, though brief, was marked by the complexities of leadership during a transformative period in Tahiti's history. Sources regarding his familial connections vary, with some missionary accounts describing him and his sister as half-siblings, while later interpretations suggest a more direct sibling relationship under their mother, Tere-moe-moe.
