Princess Zorka of Montenegro

Princess Zorka Karađorđević, born Princess Ljubica of Montenegro on December twenty-third, eighteen sixty-four, was a prominent figure in the Montenegrin royal family. As the eldest child of Prince Nicholas I and Princess Milena, she was destined for a life of significance within the aristocracy. Her name, Zorka, meaning 'dawn', was bestowed upon her during her baptism, symbolizing a new beginning.

In eighteen eighty-three, Zorka entered into a union with Prince Peter Karađorđević, marking a pivotal moment in her life as she adopted the surname Karađorđević. This marriage not only solidified her status but also intertwined her fate with the future of Serbia, as her husband would later ascend to the throne as King Peter I.

Tragically, Zorka's life was cut short when she died in childbirth on March sixteenth, eighteen ninety, while giving birth to her son, Prince Andrija. The loss was compounded by the untimely death of her newborn shortly thereafter, leaving a profound impact on her family and the royal lineage.
