Suleiman the Magnificent, born on November sixth, fourteen ninety-four, ascended to the Ottoman throne on September thirtieth, fifteen twenty. His reign, which lasted until September sixth, fifteen sixty-six, marked the longest period of rule among the Ottoman sultans. Under his leadership, the empire reached unprecedented heights in economic, military, and political power, with a population exceeding twenty-five million.

Upon taking the throne, Suleiman launched a series of military campaigns against Christian powers in Central and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. His conquests included the capture of Belgrade in fifteen twenty-one and Rhodes in fifteen twenty-two. The pivotal battle at Mohács in fifteen twenty-six led to the fragmentation of the Kingdom of Hungary, much of which was absorbed into the empire.
