Tom Ince, born on January 30, 1992, is an accomplished English professional footballer known for his versatility on the pitch, playing as an attacking midfielder, left winger, or forward. Currently, he represents EFL Championship club Watford. The son of former England midfielder Paul Ince, Tom's football journey began at Liverpool, where he made his professional debut during the 2010–11 season.
Ince's early career saw him loaned to Notts County, where he made a notable impact by scoring twice in eight appearances. After declining a new contract with Liverpool, he joined Blackpool, a club freshly relegated from the Premier League. Over two and a half seasons at Blackpool, he made a significant mark, featuring in 113 matches and netting 33 goals. His talent was recognized with the 2013 Football League Young Player of the Year Award and a spot in the 2012–13 PFA Team of the Year.
In January 2014, Ince signed on loan with Premier League side Crystal Palace, where he scored his first goal in the top flight. He later joined Hull City on a free transfer but faced challenges in securing regular playtime. A successful loan spell at Derby County followed, where he scored eleven goals in eighteen appearances, leading to a permanent transfer for a fee of four point seven five million pounds, making him the club's most expensive signing at that time.
After a season with Huddersfield Town, Ince moved to Stoke City in July 2018 for a fee of ten million pounds. He spent four seasons with Stoke before making a switch to Reading in the summer of 2022. Throughout his career, Ince has also represented England at various youth levels, including under-17, under-19, and under-21.
