Victor Geoffrion

Victor Geoffrion, born on October twenty-third, eighteen fifty-one, in St-Simon de Bagot, Canada East, was a prominent Canadian lawyer and politician. He hailed from a politically active family, being the brother of Félix and Christophe-Alphonse Geoffrion, both of whom served as Members of Parliament. Victor's educational journey took him through the esteemed St. Hyacinthe Seminary and McGill University, where he laid the foundation for his legal career.

As a lawyer, Geoffrion became a partner in the law firm of Geoffrion, Geoffrion, & Cusson, located in Montreal. His legal expertise and commitment to public service led him to enter the political arena, where he first secured a seat in the House of Commons of Canada for the electoral district of Chambly—Verchères during a by-election in nineteen hundred. His political career flourished as he was re-elected in nineteen hundred, nineteen hundred four, and nineteen hundred eight, representing the Liberal Party.

Despite his successes, Victor faced defeat in the elections of nineteen eleven, marking a turning point in his political journey.
