William, Prince of Wales

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of William, Prince of Wales

William, Prince of Wales, born on June 21, 1982, is the heir apparent to the British throne and the elder son of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales. His early life unfolded during the reign of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and he received his education at prestigious institutions including Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College.

Continuing his academic journey, William earned a Master of Arts degree in geography from the University of St Andrews, where he met Catherine Middleton, who would later become his wife. Together, they are proud parents to three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.

After completing his education, William trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served with the Blues and Royals. His aviation career began in earnest when he graduated from the Royal Air Force College Cranwell in 2008, subsequently joining the RAF Search and Rescue Force in early 2009. He later served as a full-time pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from July 2015 for two years.

In his role as Prince of Wales, William undertakes numerous official duties and engagements on behalf of the monarchy. He is a patron of various charitable and military organizations, including the Tusk Trust, Centrepoint, and London's Air Ambulance Charity. His philanthropic efforts, particularly through the Royal Foundation, focus on critical issues such as mental health, conservation, and homelessness. In 2020, he launched the Earthshot Prize, aimed at promoting innovative environmental solutions.

William was bestowed the title of Duke of Cambridge just before his wedding in April 2011. Following his father's accession to the throne on September 8, 2022, he became Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay, and the very next day, he was officially made Prince of Wales.
