Yawar Waqaq

Yawar Waqaq, born in the year one thousand three hundred sixty, ascended to the throne as the seventh Sapa Inca of the Kingdom of Cusco around the year one thousand three hundred eighty. He was a prominent figure in the Hanan dynasty, following in the footsteps of his father, Inca Roca. His reign marked a significant period in the history of the Inca civilization.

At the tender age of nineteen, Yawar embarked on a series of conquests that expanded his territory significantly. His military campaigns led to the subjugation of regions such as Pillauya, Choyca, Yuco, Chillincay, Taocamarca, and Cavinas, solidifying his power and influence in the region.

The name Yawar Waqaq carries a poignant story from his childhood, as he was reportedly abducted by the Sinchi Tokay Qhapaq of the Ayarmaca nation. During his captivity, he was said to have cried tears of blood, a testament to his suffering. However, he managed to escape with the assistance of Chimpu Orma, one of his captor's mistresses, which adds a layer of intrigue to his early life.

Yawar's personal life was equally notable; he was married to Mama Chicya, and together they had two sons, Paucar Ayllu and Pahuac Hualpa Mayta. His legacy as a ruler and a family man continues to be remembered in the annals of Inca history.
