Zheng Jing

Zheng Jing, born on November fourth, sixteen forty-two, was a multifaceted figure in Chinese history, known for his roles as a politician, rebel, and pirate. His life unfolded during a tumultuous period marked by the decline of the Ming dynasty and the rise of new powers in the region.

Initially, Zheng Jing was recognized for his military prowess, having served as a general in the Southern Ming forces. His strategic acumen and leadership skills were pivotal during a time when the Southern Ming sought to resist the encroaching Qing dynasty.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Koxinga, Zheng Jing ascended to the throne as the second ruler of the Tungning Kingdom in Taiwan. He held the hereditary title of 'Prince of Yanping' and reigned from sixteen sixty-two until sixteen eighty-one, continuing his father's legacy and striving to maintain the kingdom's independence.
