Astrid of Sweden

Astrid of Sweden, born on November seventeenth, nineteen oh five, was a prominent member of the Swedish House of Bernadotte. She became Queen of the Belgians as the first wife of King Leopold III, a role she embraced with grace and dedication. Their marriage in November nineteen twenty-six marked the beginning of her journey as Duchess of Brabant, a title she held with pride.

Her reign as Queen of the Belgians commenced on February twenty-third, nineteen thirty-four, and continued until her untimely death in nineteen thirty-five. During this brief period, Astrid was known for her unwavering commitment to charitable causes, particularly those focused on the welfare of women and children, leaving a lasting impact on Belgian society.

Astrid and Leopold were blessed with three children. Their daughter, Joséphine-Charlotte, would later become the Grand Duchess Consort of Luxembourg, while their two sons ascended to the throne as Kings of the Belgians. In a touching tribute, King Albert II named his first daughter, Princess Astrid of Belgium, after her beloved mother.
