Batu Khan

Batu Khan, born in the year twelve hundred and five, emerged as a formidable military leader and a prominent figure in Mongol history. As the grandson of the legendary Genghis Khan and son of Jochi, Batu inherited a legacy of conquest and leadership that would shape the course of Eurasian history.

He is best known as the founder of the Golden Horde, a powerful khanate that became a significant part of the Mongol Empire following Genghis Khan's death. Under Batu's rule, the Golden Horde expanded its influence over vast territories, including the Kievan Rus', Volga Bulgaria, Cumania, and the Caucasus, maintaining dominance for approximately two and a half centuries.
