Ferdinand I of Aragon

Ferdinand I of Aragon, also known as Ferdinand of Antequera and referred to as the Just or the Honest, was a prominent ruler in the early fifteenth century. Born on November twenty-seventh, one thousand three hundred eighty, he ascended to the throne as king of Aragon, Valencia, Majorca, Sardinia, and nominally Corsica, as well as king of Sicily. His reign marked a significant period in the history of the Crown of Aragon.

In addition to his royal titles, Ferdinand held the nominal dukedom of Athens and Neopatria, and was the count of Barcelona, Roussillon, and Cerdanya from the years fourteen twelve to fourteen sixteen. His governance extended beyond Aragon, as he also served as the regent of Castile from fourteen six to fourteen sixteen, showcasing his influence across the Iberian Peninsula.

Ferdinand's legacy is particularly notable as he was the first Castilian ruler of the Crown of Aragon, a pivotal moment that would shape the political landscape of Spain. His reign was characterized by efforts to consolidate power and navigate the complexities of regional politics during a time of significant change.
