Kim Sol-song, born on December thirtieth, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent North Korean politician and the daughter of the late leader Kim Jong Il and Kim Young-sook. As a half-sister to the current leader, Kim Jong Un, she has played a significant role in the political landscape of North Korea.

Her name, which translates to 'snow pine', was bestowed upon her by her grandfather, Kim Il Sung. Sol-song was favored by her father and pursued her education at Kim Il Sung University, where she majored in economics. There are indications that she may have furthered her studies in Paris during the autumn of two thousand five.

After completing her education, Sol-song was appointed to the propaganda department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, where she oversaw literary affairs. She was responsible for the signatures on all literary works entering the department, showcasing her influence in the realm of North Korean literature.

In the late nineteen nineties, she took on the critical role of managing her father's security and schedule. Accompanying Kim Jong Il on various trips to military units and local villages, she was often seen in the uniform of a lieutenant colonel, reflecting her significant position within the regime.

Described by a North Korean defector as both intelligent and beautiful, Sol-song is noted for her long hair and stands at one point sixty-five meters tall, or five feet five inches.
