Milena of Montenegro

Milena of Montenegro, born on May fourth, eighteen forty-seven, holds a significant place in the history of Montenegro as the only Queen by marriage to Nicholas I of Montenegro. Her royal journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to her country and her family.

In eighteen sixty-nine and again in eighteen eighty-three, Milena stepped into the role of regent during her husband's absences, showcasing her leadership and commitment to the Montenegrin people. Later in her life, Milena continued to play a vital role in Montenegrin affairs as the titular regent for the king-in-exile, Michael, Prince of Montenegro, from nineteen twenty-two to nineteen twenty-three.
