Smbat I of Armenia

Smbat I of Armenia, born in the year eight hundred fifty, was a prominent figure in the medieval Kingdom of Armenia, representing the illustrious Bagratuni dynasty. As the second king of this kingdom, he played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of Armenia during his reign.

He was the son of Ashot I, a foundational monarch whose legacy paved the way for Smbat's own rule. Smbat I's lineage continued through his children, notably Ashot II and Abas I, ensuring the continuation of the Bagratuni dynasty's influence in the region.
